A burger update (since it IS National Burger Month).

Mike shared this article about the Burger of the Month Club (or BOTM — pronounced “bottom”).  Here are there top 10 burgers in New York City:

The Favorites

These are the Burger of the Month Club’s top 10 burgers, in order:

BLACK IRON BURGER 540 East Fifth Street (Avenue B), East Village, (212) 677-6067.

BACK FORTY 190 Avenue B (12th Street), East Village, (212) 388-1990.

I was pleased to see Landmarc make the list since some French bistros like Landmarc (and Montparnasse in Midtown) turn out delicious, but oft forgotten burgers.  Melon’s was very controversial with the group and Shake Shack didn’t fare well.  Most interesting to me is that the top 2 burgers in NYC are not in Manhattan… interesting.

Cementing her status as an early pick for favorite person in DC, Kate sent me a good list of burgers to try once I move (tomorrow!)  She suggests:

Ray’s Hell Burger Rocks. Palena, Central, Billy Martin’s in G-town (like JG Melon-esque burger). Spike Medelson from Top Chef also has a place on the hill, can’t remember the name of it right now but it’s pretty damn good too. :)

Any place I need to add?
