So I’ve avoided commenting on my beloved Yankees for the most part this off season because… well the money spent was embarrassing, A-Rod’s antics were and continue to be embarrassing, and… well… that’s pretty much enough for me.
But Baseball Prospectus is not predicting a good year for my boys (87 wins) and delivers this harsh news about Derek Jeter:
“By 2010, Jeter’s glove won’t play in the infield and his bat won’t play anywhere else.”
On a brighter note, food is getting better at both stadiums, and while it’s hard to top Danny Meyer at Citifield (Shake Shack! Blue Smoke!), the new Yankee Stadium will have sushi (yuck), Hebrew National (my hot dog of choice), and cuban sandwiches!
