So despite 40-degree temperatures and the fact that another indoors Shake Shack exists, Mike and I went to the original one so he could finally eat some humble pie a shackburger.
How did the Shackburger do?
Well, Mike admitted it was very good but still thinks Melon’s is better. Shake Shack wins for shakes (obvi) and Melon’s wins for fries. This is probably the closest he’d come to admitting Shake Shack was superior, so I’m counting this as a win.
More interesting than eating cheeseburgers and milkshakes in the FREEZING cold, however, were two other notable incidents:
- While we were waiting, a bird pooped on me. Gross. As was noted, no, I would not have had that problem at Melon’s.
- While we were eating, Chelsea Clinton came to the Shack. I would include a photo of her in line, but someone refused to send me it because I may have been a little critical of him playing paparazzi…
Long story short, I have to go to Melon’s to settle this once and for all, but comme toujours, Shake Shack did NOT disappoint.
1) We went to the outdoors Shake Shack because somebody promised me there were heat lamps.
2) The Melon burger and fries are far superior to Shake Shack’s.
3) Shake Shack wins on milkshake because J.G. Melon does not have milkshakes.
4) The bird pooping on you was the highlight.

Oh, and while we’re on the subject, let’s not forget that when you got pooped on and I heroically ran up to grab napkins, Shake Shack was completely out of napkins, which would not have happened at J.G. Melon.
Shake Shack, *pfft*. The next time you’re home I’m taking you to Zac’s in Aston for the Zacburger, fries, and a black-and-white.
