Republican Reading List (Bailout Focus)
You should read: The NYPost begged John McCain to make opposing the bailout a prominent part of his election promise (kind of moot now, but the charts in the sidebar are actually pretty interesting) KJL shares the changes that House … Continue reading
Global Priorities: people are more interested in cupcakes than the financial crisis
But there are so many different flavors of cupcakes. If there were a red velvet financial crisis, I might be more interested… (Via BuzzFeed)
I was, and still am, a huge loser
Another weekend pre-GRE means another Saturday night reviewing vocab and not drinking. Except that now it’s 11 PM and I’m eating a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and catching up on Google Reader and watching Ace of Cakes and realizing … Continue reading
Slater interviews Zach on Extra
I used to have such a crush on Zach, but I think Slater’s aged better…
Jerry Manuel said it was gangsta.
Did you see Johan Santana pitch today? Sadly, I didn’t, but it sounds like he dominated. He pitched a complete game, gave up three hits and no runs all on just three days rest. How does one describe such an … Continue reading
Actually
In rereading this, it doesn’t seem to make any sense. At the time, I thought it was very funny so maybe I transcribed it wrong from memory. Or maybe it was only funny to people who spent the day doing … Continue reading

Duh-rew’s best line EVER
While chitchatting with Drew today, we had the following exchange. It was his quickest/wittiest/bestest comeback and he begged me not to share. So, of course, here it is: Drew: I’m doing something tonight you won’t approve of Me: Getting an … Continue reading

That was some quick post-debate ad creation!
So I felt that: a) Tonight’s debate was boring b) John McCain seemed presidential, but didn’t say anything groundbreaking c) Barack Obama was clearly flustered by McCain I’m counting it as a not particularly spirited win.
Pepperidge Farm is now making dog biscuits

The New York Times’ questionable relationship with Obama
Jonah Goldberg writes about that this week and sums it all up rather nicely: The New York Times doesn’t owe fairness to McCain; it owes accuracy to its readers. That said, when I read these quotes (admittedly on John McCain’s campaign … Continue reading

My Conservative Identity: You are an Anti-government Gunslinger, also known as a libertarian conservative. You believe in smaller government, states’ rights, gun rights, and that, as Reagan once said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m … Continue reading

With all my love for Jerry Manuel, I’d almost forgotten about Joe Torre
Joe Torre may not be gangsta, but he’s still pretty fabulous. His latest blog entry is about trying wheatgrass. Turns out he hated it! Let’s take wheatgrass, for example… Let’s just say it tastes like somewhere in the neighborhood of … Continue reading

NYPost rips on Shake Shack
The New York Post has proclaimed Shake Shack, Corner Bistro, Burger Joint, and DB Bistro Moderne as overrated. Agree on Corner Bistro, haven’t been to DB Bistro Moderne recently, and was mildly disappointed in my last Burger Joint burger (which … Continue reading
