While I know I post a fair number of conservative articles on this site, I don’t often provide a lot of my own commentary. I don’t want to hit you all too hard with my beliefs (which, to be honest, I’m still forming myself) and I don’t want all my liberal friends and family members to stop swinging by because they don’t agree with what I’m posting or don’t find it relevant.
That said, I’m really thrilled that McCain chose Sarah Palin. I don’t know a whole lot about her since I’ve only been reading about her in depth… ummm… today. However, I’m more excited than I thought I’d be about a woman on the ticket.
It never really hit home with Hillary — not because she’s a Democrat and not because she’s a bit mannish, but because I don’t feel it really counts as shattering the glass ceiling when you got there because of your husband.
Maybe Hillary was smart enough, experienced enough, and qualified enough to be President, but she didn’t get there on her own.
Watching Sarah Palin today, I was simultaneously teary-eyed and inspired. She just seems sincerely committed to public service.
The Editors of the National Review already said her selection “wowed the public and enthused the Right” and in my case, they’re absolutely correct.
And, frankly, I’m kind of pleased with all the sexy librarian comments — anyone who convinces America that brunettes who wear glasses and French twists are hot is certainly advancing my cause!
